Jason Kay, Executive Director Downtown Vitality & Heritage
Jason started his career in museum collections as a summer student in Leduc. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Alberta, he travelled the world, ending up in Vancouver to attend film school. His career in film brought him back to Edmonton, where he was involved in many film & TV projects, such as HBO’s The Last of Us. Through his work with the Edmonton Film Commission, Jason was able to promote the industry to municipalities all around Alberta, where he developed strong connections with local community leaders, members and businesses. With roots firmly planted in Leduc, Jason is passionate about using his career experience to promote Leduc’s Downtown District and the important historical significance of this vibrant community.

Kristin Bowles, Marketing Communications
Kristin has been working with the association since 2022 and started out as a summer student assisting with events and marketing. Over the years she’s developed the social media, online presence and attended many community events and shares a passion to enhance the perception of Downtown Leduc. Through her journey she’s had the chance to get to know the faces behind a lot of our businesses. Kristin, Jason and the Board of Directors are excited about upcoming 2025 projects and ideas to support the Downtown District's continued growth and to help member businesses thrive!

Amber Cook, Small Business Support Specialist
As the Small Business Support Specialist Amber is a valuable resource and asset to our local business owners and managers providing them with tools, resources, and a safe place to share problems, challenges, wins and successes and then brainstorm ideas and solutions. As a local Downtown Business owner Amber brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to other businesses as well as a passion to see small businesses and owners succeed and thrive.
Amber was on the Leduc Downtown Business Association board from 2020 – 2023 and was Executive Director of the LDBA from 2023 – 2024.

Brenda Smith-Goddu, Chair
2024 - 2026 Term
Owner-operator of Envision Medical Spa Inc., Brenda has been a long time active member of the Downtown Business Association, and is serving her third term on the Board of Directors. She is very passionate about the Downtown District and loves the work that has been accomplished. She especially looks forward to moving forward with our Strategic Plan. She sees this as an exciting time for all of us, as we move forward and work together for our community.

Jana Hamilton, Secretary
2025 - 2027 Term
Jana is the owner of Connectivity Dance Ltd, Jana opened in Downtown Leduc in 2012 with the goal of connecting with the community and teaching students. To foster her goal of connecting with the Leduc community, she encourages students to participate in community events by volunteering, providing entertainment and activities. Apart from day to day business operations, Jana is continually involved in event coordinating and volunteers in local schools through the Jump Rope for Heart Program and is a director on various boards. Jana is looking forward to watching the Downtown community flourish, building partnerships and promoting the LDBA as a whole.

Pradeep Tripathi, Director
2025 - 2027 Term
Pradeep is the General Manager of Best Western Denham Inn. He has been with the hotel for eight years, working in various roles including Operations Manager. He holds a BA (Hons) in Hospitality Management from Napier Business School, Edinburgh. Passionate about food, beverage, and hospitality, Pradeep also strives to support the growth of Leduc’s downtown and business community by collaborating with local business owners and leaders.

Lesa Nelson, Member at Large
Lesa is the owner of TravelOnly with Lesa. Born and raised in Leduc, she has a strong connection to the community and a genuine interest in seeing the downtown area grow and thrive.
With more than 20 years of experience in the tourism industry, Lesa brings a unique perspective to the table — combining her understanding of global travel with a deep appreciation for local places and the people who shape them. She values collaboration, community spirit, and creating spaces where both residents and visitors feel welcome. Through her role on the board, Lesa is committed to supporting a vibrant downtown that reflects the heart of Leduc.
