September is Alberta Culture Days month!

We are hosting a Culture Days Showcase in our Downtown District and YOU are invited to join us in celebrating the arts and culture of our community. This event is about bringing the community together and we can’t wait for you to come see what we have to offer!

This will be a full day of FREE activities, performances, workshops, and demonstrations that take place throughout the Downtown District within local businesses. We encourage you to participate in our Culture Days Showcase by wandering downtown and checking out what is being hosted in and by our Downtown District Businesses.

We welcome everyone to appreciate diversity and enjoy these experiences together in our Downtown District.

When you visit any of these businesses for the Culture Showcase look for the door prize entry forms. We’ve got some great prizes!


Showcase Activities & Demonstrations By Time:

9:30 AM - Codabugs Music Together is offering a children music & movement class at Connectivity Dance with limited spots.

9:45 AM - Explore arts and culture with a free dance class at Connectivity Dance

10 AM - 4 PM - Art Exhibit at the Grain Elevator and Grain Elevator tours.

10 AM - Connectivity Cloest is so excited to announce their Costume Sale! Join them until 3 PM to get your costume and support a great cause! They're partnering with KidSport Leduc and will be accepting Dancewear donations for Buy N Sell. All proceeds of the donated items will go to KidSport Leduc.

10 AM - FREE movie showings at Leduc Cinema. Doors open at 9:15am, space is limited, first come first serve.

Two free movie showings that we have selected specifically for our Culture Days celebrations. Both films explore culture in unique ways.

Guitar Lessons: A 15-year-old Metis boy and a cantankerous oilfield contractor, learn to grow up together over guitar lessons. Filmed and produced in Alberta by local Director and Writer Aaron James.

Space Jam A New Legacy: A rogue artificial intelligence kidnaps the son of famed basketball player LeBron James, who then has to work with Bugs Bunny to win a basketball game.

10 AM - What’s up with Salt? Salt Beauty Studio will teach you all about their wellness obsession, salt therapy. Space is limited first come first serve. Everyone who attends will receive a certificate for a free Salt Room Therapy session!

10 AM - Hands on Art with Ms Jana in Jeans from Connectivity Dance.

10:30 AM - Explore arts and culture with a free dance class at Connectivity Dance.

10:30 AM - Codabugs Music Together is offering a children music & movement class at Connectivity Dance with limited spots.

11 AM - How its made demonstration - Watch and learn how to turn artist prints into greeting cards at Best Copy Shop. Space is limited, first come first serve.

11 AM - Experience a martial arts demonstration followed by 2 free trial classes with Relentless Martial Arts. *Space is limited to 20 people.

“We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary! We will run a demonstration at 11 AM with our students performing some of the techniques they learn for self defense, strength building and coordination. We will serve cake after and during the day. We will also offer 2 scheduled free trial classes at 1 & 2 PM.”

12 PM - Jump to the beat with Connectivity Dance at their free skipping class

1 PM - Witness an energetic performance by The Connectivity Skippers and Connectivity Hype Team

1:30 - 2:30 PM - Come explore the fascinating history of Leduc with local author Tom Dursa! This is your chance to learn about the stories that shaped our community, along with the unique perspectives of our local history. Tom will be in the StartUp Meeting Room located inside The Light House Cowork at 4810 50th Avenue. He will also have some books for sale.

1 - 3 PM - Flag Making + Colouring Activities with Shawn, LGBTQIA2+ Representative at The Light House Cowork.

2 PM - Weaving together cultures, stories, and history, Blackbird Knitting and Needlework is excited to present a FREE spinning demo! Come learn the basics of spinning on a drop spindle and listen to tales of textiles and spinning from around the world. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to explore the art and craft of spinning and get your questions answered!

3 PM - Weaving together cultures, stories, and history, Blackbird Knitting and Needlework is excited to present a FREE spinning demo!



We are looking forward to appreciating and recognizing all the cultures and values we host in our community and working together to create a positive environment and atmosphere in our Downtown District.
